David had a first career in Science graduating with a BSc from Aberdeen University before Graduating from the University of Edinburgh with an MSc & then PhD before moving to Greece for two Postdoctoral fellowships where the Greek bug took hold. During a lectureship at University College Dublin he started the renovation of a traditional stone mansion in the Pelion peninsula and continued this during a further scientific post in Germany before a full switch in Career to tourism. In 2011 the house was finished & opened as ‘The Lotus Tree’ traditional house & has been welcoming guests who come to explore the Pelion region ever since.
Having started local tours in Pelion and with relocation to Athens he founded Warmpenguin in 2015 with the idea of showing others the hidden beauty of Greece. Sine then & with extensive travels and the benefit of developing a group of experienced professionals along the way he continues to dedicate his efforts to uncovering & offering the embarrassment of riches Greece has to offer the traveler.
